Blidworth on the move

Blidworth on the move has evolved directly from the support the Abbey Medical Groups (AMG) Patient Participation Group (PPG) and other local benefactors in the Blidworth and Rainworth areas.

It is a service that provides transport for patients and carers across local communities that are vulnerable, have transport issues and need to get to the doctors’ surgery in Ravenshead from Blidworth or Rainworth or to the hospital.

We as a group are working alongside other local voluntary transports schemes. The difference between our scheme is that we are trying to maintain the highest PPE to protect the vulnerable.  We are most fortunate that through the support of the local family business Rainworth Fencing, they have come forward with an adapted vehicle that can take a wheelchair and has a Perspex screen to protect the driver and patients during the Covid 19 pandemic.

We want to ensure that those who are shielded, vulnerable, with special needs, elderly, sick, infirm, disabled or poor during this crisis get much needed medical treatment.  This is a unique scheme and at the present we are limited and therefore only able to support Abbey Medical Group patients living in Blidworth and Rainworth areas.

We have limited resources.

The GP Partners and team at AMG support the initiative and appreciate the added support this scheme gives patients.

The drivers have full DBS checks and appropriate support and training

To book the transport, please contact Gilly Hagen on 07915929936.

Non-urgent advice: Community Support Network

Our Charity Community Hub is celebrating our 2nd birthday, and the support we offer to the isolated, vulnerable, and needy over the age of eighteen in the communities of BLIDWORTH, RAINWORTH & RAVENSHEAD, continues to grow.  We want to support people in the best ways we can.

OUR WORK AS A COMMUNITY HUB grows each month and we are eager to build alliances with other groups and organisations as well as business, who want to increase community spirit and enterprise.

Just to put the record straight we do provide voluntary transport for the above groups of people, but so much more.  Our groups and events are growing each month and the food aid is there for those who need it.

Our hub is based at the Sherwood Forest Community Church, Main Street Blidworth. NG21 0PX
