STATEMENT OF INTENT

GP Practices have been given until 31st March 2015 to offer the following services to patients.

Patient access to their GP Record

GP Practices are required to offer the facility for patients to view online, export or print any summary information from their record, for example medications, allergies, adverse reactions and any additional information agreed between the GP and patient.

The Practice intends to provide this service as soon as our Clinical Software provider allows us to.

Summary Care Record

GP Practices are required to provide an automated upload of any changes to a patient’s summary information, at least once every working day, to the Summary Care Record (SCR).

The requirement is based on the current definition of the SCR, i.e. the core SCR record contains medications, allergies and adverse reactions.  It is only viewed in emergency or urgent care settings with the explicit consent of the patient unless the patient is unable to give their consent, for example, if they are unconscious.

The Practice already uploads this information on a daily basis.  However if you removed your consent by completing a form online (accessible via our website www.blidworthandravensheadsurgery.co.uk) your information does not get uploaded.  The Practice can now also view the information regarding patients that are here temporarily with their consent.

GP2GP Record Transfer

There is a requirement to use the GP2GP facility for the transfer of patient records between practices, when a patient registers or de-registers (not for temporary registration).

The Practice intends to go live with this on the Monday 3rd November 2014.
